Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is the daughter of a mixed-race family from South London in England. Her father and mother are both English. She was raised in the south of a London community estate, where she attended The Brit School at age 14. She attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London which she graduated with an BA in acting. At school, she was a part-time actor in a variety of stage productions including King Henry V's princess Katherine or Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe started her career as an actress with the film Storm Damage. She's appeared as an actor for Teachers Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her breakthrough role came in 2007's Woody Allen film Cassandra's Dream. It was in the role of Colin Farrell (who played the character of Cassandra) and Ewan McGrath. She then was the lead in Elisha in the BBC Three pilot drama, in West 10 LDN. In addition, she appeared as Ollie in the six episodes in the series Trexx, Flipside, and Flipside. Also, the ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl featured her in 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe played the lead role on How to Lose Friends And Alienate Others, a comedy that was released in the year 2008. Her credits in theatre comprise Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams and Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe made her official US debut in the 2009 Drama series The Beautiful Life, which just aired two episodes in the US on The CW before being cancelled. Ashley Davenport, a character from ABC's Revenge drama series, was cast to play Ashley Davenport. Madekwe was a regular in the drama series on ABC Revenge for two seasons. The show was announced in May 2013 that she would be leaving the series following a guest episode in the first episode of season three. In the TV series Salem in 2014, she portrayed Tituba in 2014 through 2016. Madekwe, along with her boyfriend of many years, Iddo Goldenberg, were wedding in June of 2012. Both of them have been in Secret Diary of a Call Girl. They have also appeared together in Salem.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress is a member of a huge family from Hamilton, Ontario. Her family included her parents Roy and Patty together with four brothers who were older than them: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley lived in stadiums or baseball parks because her brothers, who were all athletic, were hockey players, baseball players, and basketball in summer and winter. Ashley didn't walk, instead she was a dancer. In the age of two and half, she found Baby Ballet. This was the beginning of Ashley's passion for dance. Ashley continued to dance competitively until her high-school graduation in top divisions such as ballet, tap, Jazz and Pointe. She also competed in Acrobatics, Acrobatics Musical Theatre, Lyrical Hip Hop, and much more. Ashley won the best soloist prize at each major dance competition, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, to name just some.
